Francoeur’s Accomplishments

Well, first off, let me apologize to all you single ladies out there who go wild for Jeff Francoeur. After his marriage and subsequent Golden Glove award this past weekend, there’s no way his high school sweetheart will ever dump him. She can throw stuff across the room and he’ll just reach out and pull it in. Or something.

Seriously, though, congratulations to Jeff on his marriage. He’s a great guy from all accounts, and definitely deserves years of happiness ahead of him. Nothing but good wishes for him from the staff here. :) That said, the AJC was rude enough to even try to reach him on his cellphone for comment on the Gold glove award. Leave the guy alone while he’s on his honeymoon, for crying out loud.

Francoeur definitely is deserving of the Gold Glove - he has some great range in the outfield and his arm saves runs routinely. He’s always been a consistent fielder, and just lowered his errors this year. Last year his fielding stats look pretty much the same, with exception to him cutting errors from 9 in 2006 to 5 in all of 2007. Lock the man up, the Braves need him for years to come, especially with Andruw out the door.

Speaking of Andruw, he won his 10th consecutive Gold Glove. No surprise there. The man will be winning those for years to come.

Congrats, Francoeur - here’s to another great season in front of us!

Cheers,

Colin
