Carlyle is MUCH better suited for whatever role Reyes is going to fill. As for Hampton, I'm really not surprised. And by not really surprised, I mean really disappointed. I saw him pitch twice already this spring - once in Florida and once in the exhibition game here in Atlanta, and he looked great. His stuff was awesome. I had actually thought that we'd get at least a few starts out of him. Oh well. But Reyes isn't going to help the bullpen, that's for darn sure. I can't believe they'd bring up Jo-Jo after his performance this spring. Carlyle is MUCH better suited for whatever role Reyes is going to fill.

As for Hampton, I'm really not surprised. And by not really surprised, I mean really disappointed. A 1-3 start and Eric is ready to throw in the towel. They have hit well, the pitching has been ok. We are just slow out the gate. Hampton should have not been a real shock to anyone. The man cant turn on his own tv with out tearing a muscle, acl, blowing out his elbow. Let's just all calm down and hopefully whip the mets ass this weekend. The Braves will get it together. I've seen some things I like and some things I don't like through the season so far. I like the offense. They're producing most of the time, just not always in the clutch situations. All of our losses have been one-run games. The use of the bullpen scares me. If we're averaging using 6 guys from the pen every night, they're not going to last....the concept of Jo-Jo in the bullpen....don't get me started. At least we're all trained to look for Hampton's name on the DL..... A 1-3 start is definitely not the end of the world. This team has so much potential, and although they are 3 one-run losses, they are still losses, and our pitching situation seems to worsen every day.
