Oakland A’s Come To Town

Written by Colin on May 16, 2008 – 7:11 pm

Mark Kotsay gets an opportunity to face his old team tonight as Interleague play starts and the Oakland A’s come to town.  Jair Jurrjens (4-3, 3.10) takes the mound tonight for the Braves and faces Dana Eveland (3-3, 3.23).  Jurrjens looks to add to his team-high 41 strikeouts and Kotsay gets to prove to his old team that he’s worth more than Joey Devine as he looks to continue his solid start.

The Braves have been rocking it at home recently and need to continue that streak until their road woes subside.  We need to take this series to start the 11 game home stand.  Join us as we watch the game for thoughts and commentary on the first Interleague game of the season.

Let’s go Braves!

We get a baserunner and then get him picked off . . . that’s pretty much how it’s going right now.

2-2 into the top of the 8th. Acosta in to pitch for the Braves…

Leadoff single given up to Sweeney.

Our pitchers are fielding terribly tonight. First, Jurrjens allowed a run on a bad throw on the safety squeeze and Acosta just tried to throw that one into center. Thankfully Yunel bailed him out.

I’ve enjoyed getting to listen to Skip Carey during the game tonight….I’m usually at the home games so don’t get the opportunity.

Chipper looked alright running from first to third there….that’s a good sign.

    3-4 for McCann tonight.

First and third with 2 outs in the bottom of eight.
