The Marlins Swept Them, So Can We
Written by Jonathan on May 23, 2008 – 7:37 pmThe Arizona Diamondbacks are in town after being swept this week by the Florida Marlins while the Braves are coming off of a huge 4-game sweep of the Mets. Even with the sweep, the Diamondbacks still have a rock-solid 28-19 record and are dominating the NL West. Let me just say that we’d like to help give the other teams in the division a chance over the next 4 days.
Jo-Jo Reyes is making the start for the Braves while Doug Davis is starting for the Diamondbacks, making his first start since having surgery for cancer in April. Let’s see if the Braves can keep that stellar 20-5 home record. Go Braves!

Brayan Pena was activated from the DL today and then designated. He’ll have to try to clear waivers now to stay with the Braves.

We don’t exactly have the best track record against the D-backs, they swept us at home in four a couple years ago and I think we went 1-x against them last year.

Grrr…. 7-1 Diamond backs mid-4th.

Doesn’t help that the D-backs have a great pitching staff this season.

I think we can call this one, Chris Young just hit a homer. 10-1 D-Backs,

I mean, I’m sure Cox was ready too, that might be why Resop’s in in the first place, man I can’t wait till SorGonSmoltz’s back

Quite frankly, this is a very disappointing game to watch on my birthday. I’ve turned off the TV entirely and am on the front porch.

Tonight’s game was completely bizarre. Is this really the same team that swept the Mets? The D-Backs owned the game tonight. Unbelievable.
Another fine example of the importance of starting pitchers. Jo-Jo didn’t belong on the mound tonight and Davis held us to 1 run. It was not a fun game to watch.
Happy Birthday Colin
) Sorry the game was a bit disappointing.

It’s quite alright, Susan. Don’t worry about it at all – won’t affect my life past tonight
We’ve always got another game to play. Here’s to tomorrow night.
