Here Goes Another Road Trip
Written by Jonathan on May 27, 2008 – 8:02 pmWell, the time has come for us to buckle down on the road. By the end of June, the Braves have 19 road games. In my opinion, these games will define the rest of the season for the Braves. Without going .500 to .600 in those road games, I don’t see us standing much of a chance to compete, especially if we can’t topple teams such as the Brewers and Reds. Tonight, we kick off a set against Milwaukee with Tim Hudson taking the mound with his 7-3 record.
The Braves will be without the help of Mark Kotsay tonight and possibly for longer as they ponder placing him on the disabled list with his back problems. Hopefully the rest of the offense can stay healthy and we see some quality performances out of the pitching staff to try to right the ship against our worst-in-MLB 6-16 road record. It’s time to get it going on the road, guys. Go Braves!

Why does the leadoff spot seem to be jinx’d? Yunnel is having a tough time being patient at the plate. I would like to see Blanco in the lead off spot.
Another one run loss is incredible painful. The Braves seemed to own the game right up until the end. I’m still not quite sure how that one slipped away from us.

- Kendall grounds out to second. Hardy to second. 1 out.
- Counsell strikes out swinging. 2 out.
- Weeks lines out to left. 3 out.
That was a tense inning. I think Huddy's probably done since he's the leadoff spot in the 8th.

Kotsay's having problems with his back. He's day-to-day and the Braves may put him on the 15-Day DL.

Well, maybe I'm wrong. Hudson's batting for himself.
And that's what we're here for, Travis

Top 8th
- Hudson strikes out swinging. 1 out.
- Yunel flies out to right. 2 out.
- Johnson grounds out back to the pitcher. 3 out.
That's 3 first pitch outs for Yunel. I hope Hudson can handle 2-3-4 in the lineup at this point in the game.

The Spurs and Lakers are playing a pretty tight one, i'm switching between the two. One of the few NBA games that's been good this post season, it's hard to pick which one to watch though.

And I'm in bad enough of a mood that I'm finally calling the number to report my annoying neighbor that is outside washing her car and watering her plants.

In case anyone's wondering . . . I'm still angry. I feel like someone has ripped my heart out after that game.

it was gregor, wasn't it? i thought that happened when he turned you down and walked away rapidly with his man bag.
By Jonathan on Feb 2, 2009 | Reply
no, gregor's a-okay by me. he kept us in the game.
It's Jeff Bennett . . . I hate him right now.

I love being able to read through the game thread as I catch up on the game on DVR. It really helps me speed through it but also make sure I dont miss any of the high points
Why does the leadoff spot seem to be jinxd? Yunnel is having a tough time being patient at the plate. I would like to see Blanco in the lead off spot.
Another one run loss is incredible painful. The Braves seemed to own the game right up until the end. Im still not quite sure how that one slipped away from us.
By Jonathan on Feb 2, 2009 | Reply
You want to know how it slipped away?? Jeff Bennett is retarded!
Ah, still angry….sorry. Hope you're doing well tonight, Susan.

Argh. One run losses.
I'm not running any half marathon soon just to have a standardized stat. We can come up with some other stat like "number of articles written" or something. That one would favor me.
Is it bad if I don't remember my SAT score?
Let's hope we can win tomorrow, and that Diaz isn't that badly off.
