Braves Take On Cubbies
Written by Colin on June 10, 2008 – 6:37 pmTonight we’ve got the start of a three game series with the Cubbies in the Windy City. The Braves travel to Wrigley to take on the hottest team in the National League. The Braves are coming off a harsh home stand after being swept by the Phillies. We’ll hope they can fare better against the Cubs.
Tonight: Tom Glavine (2-2, 4.47) vs. Ted Lily (5-5, 5.23)
The Braves try to stay away from dropping below the .500 mark. Jonathan is out of town on business, but we’ll try and have some game time conversation. Chime in!

We’ve gotta bring our A game to have a chance in this series. Here’s to hoping….

Need to get through the heart of the lineup, getting through this with just one run would be awesome.

it was the second inning, let’s hope that was the most nerve-racking

Looks like Norton came through to shame me after once again bashing him today.
I’ll continue to bash him as long as he responds like this.

Derek Lee responded too…

4-3 Cubbies so far. At least we have some offense.
Akshay, you see that Detroit demoted Willis to Class A?
By Akshay on Jun 10, 2008 | Reply
Yeah, he walked 21 guys in the last 11 1/3 innings he pitched. It wasn’t too surprising that they would demote him, although it was a little surprising they sent him all the way down to A ball

At least it’s not a 1-run game anymore…

You guys see the news on Smoltz? Significant Labrum damage. Nothing simple.

Just heard on the tube:
Glavine left the game with a left elbow strain, expected to miss AT LEAST his next start.

2 on in the 7th. Too bad we couldn’t make anything out of it.

Hello from the left coast. Looks like we need some 9th inning magic.

Manny Acosta needs to remember there is a runner on base.

I’m pretty much done with Manny.

Manny might need to spend some time on the bench or in triple A just recouping from all of the innings he’s pitched. You can’t blame him, he’s a young pitcher, he’s not fully physically developed, I think they’re pushing some of the younger guys like him and Boyer more than they should be. Those guys make up an excellent bullpen when they aren’t overworked, but this has caught up to us too quickly. We all knew it would happen.

Yep, now officially done with Manny.
