I can't put aside my hatred for Barry Bonds….this is a terrible idea. I can't even fathom having to see him every game; it would probably be the first time I'd ever boo a Brave every time he stepped on the field.

I would argue that the home run record never left Atlanta…

Seriously, the side show and fractured clubhouse that always follows Bonds would offset any offensive contribution he would bring. We've got a lot of young players that I'd rather keep away from Bonds.

If Norton didn't have talent, the Braves wouldn't have picked him up.

Of all the talent in baseball and you wonder about Barry? How about Marion Barry to run the local anti drug program?

No. No, no, no. As long as Hank Aaron is a senior VP of the club, this will never, EVER happen. The address of Turner Field is 755 Hank Aaron Drive. I can just imagine Barry hitting 30 home runs to finish out the season, then demanding the street address to be renamed "30 Bonds Avenue".

Obviously Bonds will never land in Atlanta as long as Aaron is a VP of the club. From a clubhouse perspective it's a bad idea, but from a strictly stats perspective it makes perfect sense. I just wanted to stimulate some thought on the subject.

It's irresponsible not to sign him in a division where 3 or 4 wins might be the difference between Braves Players playing baseball or golf in October.

Team chemistry is always better on teams that win games. That's the bottom line. All this stuff about Bonds being a Boogie Man doesn't change the fact that at age 42, he was still one of the 5 best hitters in the game of baseball, and he'd cost NOTHING to acquire. No prospects, no big dollars, no massive luxury tax hits.

Just an OPS of 1.000 , about 15 homers and probably about 50 RBI in half a season.

if this was asked at the beginning of the season i would have said no in a heartbeat because the braves had a good looking lineup and many anylysts were picking us to represent the national league in the world series. the last thing on my mind was signing that juice head. but now we're in desperate need of some offense and francoeur is just not cutting it, even his defense looks lackadaisical. we're only 5 games back from the phils but it feels like 15 because of how we're playing..if we get that boost that we need things could turn around in a heartbeat..if the braves sign barry bonds tonight..i wouldn't mind it

I would love to see Bonds play for my Atlanta Braves, you know Sheffield was accused of using roids all the same, in fact he and Bonds "worked" out together all the time. Sheff was always a distraction with the Dodgers and Yankees and yet with the Braves you never heard of any that, Besides most Braves fans know that the two key guys Chipper and Smoltz have no problem with Bonds, if Braves fans stood up for John Rocker and all of his problems, the racism and childish behavior, and calling teammates such as Randall Simon a quote "monkey", (besides after that quote Simon was the player released hmmm) than i could deal with 2 months of Bonds, this would be a case of ESPN talking everything up, please sign Bonds, this whole Bobby wouldn't stand for it thing doesn't work, in fact Bobby really respects Bonds, that's why he was one of the only managers not to int. walk Bonds every plate appearance, with a base of Chipper, Smoltz, Glavine, Cox, and John Schuerholz i believe the Braves could keep him in line, if not he would be gone and somebody would be called up, end of story!

It makes every bit of sense to sign Bonds for the rest of this seacon at approximately $180,000. OF hitting is a big weakness which would immediately be shored up and tohave 4 bangers in the lineupalong with some decent starters and Gonzo in the pen and now they immediately contend. Do it now!

this is an no way, Bobby Cox would never allow that kind of distraction in his club house and Tuner Field is not Fenway he would have to have range to play here and has Barry even picked up a bat since last year he is not the Bonds of old.
