SI is confirming this and is reporting it’s a 8 year, $180M deal. The former Brave is cashing in on his power bat, good strike zone discipline, and gold glove fielding. Even I’d play for the Yankees for $22.5M a year. That’s $138K a game.

This despite Hal Steinbrenner denying yesterday that the Yankees had an offer on the table to either Teixeira or Manny Ramirez. Apparently Yankees GM Cashman was cooking something up that Hal was unaware of. That’s roughly 4/10ths of a billion dollars spent this offseason.
